Course Details

With the end of government supports and tax warehousing ending in May 2024, along with other economic headwinds it is expected that the number of company insolvencies will sharply increase.  Early intervention by utilising a rescue process such as SCARP can save viable businesses from closure, if SCARP is successfully exited.

This course is suitable for company directors, accountants and financial advisors who want to understand SCARP as a restructuring tool for viable small and micro companies in financial difficulty:

  • Accountants with clients that are facing an uncertain future.
  • Accountants who want to understand SCARP as a restructuring and turnaround option, which they can inform their clients of
  • Business owners who want to know more about their restructuring and other options.

In this course Ian Barrett covers the following topics,

  • Overview of SCARP / comparison with examinership
  • Benefits of SCARP
  • SCARP statistics (2 years after legislation was enacted)
  • Revenue Commissioners’ position on SCARP to date
  • Approach and planning for SCARP
