While accountants are experienced advisors, helping guide their clients through mergers and acquisitions, it is critical to have a helping hand that prevents firms from missing the blind spots that can arise when they are too close to a transaction.

One of the most common mistakes that we see firms making is focusing too much on the contract value rather than making sure that the person they are dealing with is the right one to deliver that value over the lifetime of the transaction. Everyone believes that nobody will look after their clients as well as they do, and they are possibly right. It is critical that you get the right people, with the right personalities and the right experience together or it can be a very difficult and costly process.
